Posted by I had the joy of meeting Elizabeth Ann this past September, (We coincidentally have the same name?). She was a volunteer at the state fair and took my egg art entry. We got talking egg art and I found out she knew how to decorate pysanky eggs, otherwise known as Ukrainian style Easter eggs!
For as long as I can remember my mom had a box kit to make the pysanky eggs, but we never did anything with it—so to have the opportunity to learn, after all these years was such a blessing! Over the course of a few hours, Liz taught me how to do the wax resist and dye technique. I used a pattern from a book and modified it, and *BAM, first pysanky egg! She may have created a monster….Thank you Liz for so graciously sharing your knowledge! I feel like God sprinkles the desires of our heart through out our lives, even ones that lay dormant, He’s always listening, tell Him the desires of your heart today, and be patient, for when you least expect it, *BAM, an Easter Egg! 😉
